i was reading an article about a school in Kansas that uses a service called Gaggle, which uses AI to monitor all student activity on school devices

If your email to a teacher about an assignment triggers one of its flags, its sent to an administrator (and the teacher never sees it).
It really does sound a bit like Minority Report.
