I just learned they are going to start selling ‘value boosters’ of Magic the Gathering at my store. They will not have a guaranteed rare.

They only have 3 commons, 1 uncommon, 1 card of any rarity, and a land.
This is horrible at any price. This is a trap they are springing on unsuspecting friends and family of those who play the game wanting to do something nice. It is not nice. It is just more enshitification.
