In response to "Wait wait wait. David almost died?!" by Subversive

You people are taking me seriously again. We've talked about this.

Last January, I had an abscess flare the night of the national championship game. They took me in for a test and this really sardonic nurse busted my chops the whole time. Two mornings later, she called me in a panic. She had gotten the test results back and it suddenly wasn't so funny. It looked like I needed emergency surgery right then. When I got to the surgeon (the best one in Knoxville whom I trust completely), he was very calm about the whole thing and offered a more meticulous treatment.

In April, I had surgery to remove the bad parts. A complication arose wherein my stomach turned to rock. That got serious and could have been fatal, but my family loved me through the ordeal.

The March thing was mainly in jest. I threw up over 20 times in a five hour period as I mentioned last week. I wasn't near death there, but if you ask me the worst I felt all year, it wasn't the abscesses flaring and it wasn't after the surgery. It was that night of constant vomiting. I was fantasizing about swallowing shotgun pellets for a couple of hours.

Really, I just wanted to dial this place down a couple of notches since we had gone over to the bad place for an hour or two.
