I had my worst tournament in 16 years the night before so I needed a good result.

little salty that I lost but 2nd place out of 32 wasn't shabby --
they were laughing when we turned over the cards for the quads.
"I wanted you drawing bastards to fold the draws! but nooooo, you all priced each other in!" I got up and was walking off waiting for the flush and the straight to both hit.
Immediate turn the case 4 so I could sit down again.
I was dialed in after that -- 4 players left, I raised with KQ and the big stack called. Ace hits the flop and I bet...he called. Turn is nothing and he doesn't bet. River is a nothing and he shoves all-in. I called him with King high....he turned over KQ as well.
Heads up, he started with 80k, i had 22k. I got him to 67k / 35k when I got pocket 9's. He raised, I pushed all-in. He called with Ace-3... Ace on the turn, but I damn near had him on the ropes but nope, 3-outer.

I've finished 3rd 2 more times.
I go heads-up out of roughly 30 people --- 22% of the time. I make the podium 26% of the time.
Final table 33 out of 54.
