In a strange way, I'm hoping that more political conversations about religion -- and Christianity especially -- will help keep religion out of

government.
I'm so tired of Republicans dominating the debate as if they were the only Christians. I mean, I'd be totally fine with a Christian nation if the Unitarians or the UCC were in charge. At least the ones I like.
And that's the whole hypocrisy that needs to be exposed. Those people don't want a "Christian nation," they want a country that skews to their particularly weird, extremist, return to Christendom that has little if anything to do with Christian theology.
