Mom is still alive and all stories are that she's a rather prickly person

I dunno. I only ever briefly met her post game as extended family cheering section went over to talk to the typically star pitcher.
At the same time, I've always been of the opinion that even if they got together well after they were divorced, FH is the much younger woman (like 15+ years?). Then it wasn't even a fling or something as she stuck around and she was always at the kids events and then eventually married her ex-husband.
Maybe too many movies and fairy tales but I dunno, the stories of the older woman accepting the younger one seem to be in minority.
