Wait. Actually if you can read the data then that means it's not protected and one could potentially spoof the transmission.

The water meter is just physical monitoring and you're just putting another meter on the physical device that is monitoring flow which is kind of cool.

      - Indeed. I ended up going with the M5stack stuff because it is more prebuilt. Costs a bit more compared to raw ESP32 stuff but I'm not good at solder -- (link) - oblique Aug 19, 07:49
