I heard a lack of local media watchdogs in NY was partially to blame for his rise in the first place. I wonder if that's getting looked into.

Like, the sentencing is all well and good, but he got as far as he did because the recent erosion of local media institutions that would have found him out through investigations. Other countries might solve this by putting their already nationalized media in charge of it never happening again. What can be done in the US?
