I pretty strongly disagree with that. It’s intimidation. I’d argue it’s extortion (if you don’t give us what we want we’re going to harm you). And

It does cause harm, even if it’s financial, and it has a history of spreading to uninvolved parties through looting and rioting. But also on a fundamental level, I don’t think I will ever understand protesting in a way that causes people to turn against you. The goal is to change minds or at least hear your message and concerns. This does the opposite.
