I think we're the only state that allows public use. Everywhere else it's at home which is where you run into some issues as there are non-smoking -- (edited)

buildings, apartments, houses, etc. So in some places people are allowed to smoke marijuana but they have nowhere legal to use it if they live in a non-smoking house/building.

Here the law is if you can smoke cigarettes then you can smoke marijuana which means you can smoke in public like walking down the block but not in parks, playgrounds, beaches or anywhere that prohibits smoking.
