I think they believe a lot of people aren't happy with Kamala as the candidate and are hoping they can be swayed. During the primaries, I was getting -- (edited)

20" texts a day for $$ from the DNC and individual candidates. Then, I was bombarded with texts from Nikki Haley and so were my other D friends. I think someone sold the D list to Trump.
