Because she wants to be the "change candidate."

Also, we go to great lengths on this board to point out that the POTUS only has so much to do with how the economy is going for ordinary Americans. Isn't it then disingenuous to suggest the Vice President ought to go ahead take credit for an economy that she has just a fraction to do with than even the President?
