Devil's advocate: Unless you are RATM or SOAD, it is a major buzzkill whenever an artist you like gets involved in politics in any way.

A fan may not mind, but the vibe has changed especially with how you talk about the artist you like with other people. It's not "party time" any more. Your hero is demystified, yet music artists in particular rely on mystique to keep their demand high.
