I viewed or read something that made the point, probably logically, that not everyone watches the debate. Opinion firms up in the days after..

..as people see clips, read articles, and talk to others they know about the debate. It's a fair point I think.
This debate had high ratings, for sure, but many many people didn't watch it. This helps to gauge how the after-story of the debate is filtering out among the populace.
