no other sneaker. Long after we had left school kids were still wearing Jordan's and it was still a sign that you were cool. That hasn't changed much even today.
Adidas had a good run with the Yeezy but outside of that their other sneakers didn't move the needle with the young people. Yeezy's were definitely a cool sneaker to them but it didn't get them to buy any other Adidas sneakers.
New Balance only recently started to raise their cool factor and took back some of the market. Puma, Reebok, Asics etc., they're not a factor and don't make cool sneakers. Hoka sells a bunch but they're for runners or older people who want comfort. They've eaten away at Nike's lifestyle market but they're also not cool to wear for young people.
Nike has been the cool sneaker for 40 years and while others chip away at them they're still dominant and seen as a cool brand.
