Time Bandits was like a fever dream. It came out when I was 10 years old. I don’t know if I ever saw it more than once. Spoilers?

News that they were making a series based on the movie felt like another fever dream. In the end, the series was interesting in places, flawed in others, and faltered near the end, before ultimately delivering in the conclusion.
Introducing the “real Time Bandits” near the end was a clever twist. The subplot with Waititi’s Supreme Being wanting to remake the universe is a total rip-off of Preacher, so that’s sad. Kudrow should have been better than she was. She phoned it in.
In the end, the series was a C+. but perhaps it could never aspire to more than a B-. Was the original Time Bandits even that great? Maybe it’s better if it stayed in the past.
