I thought sidewalks were part of what all of those HOA fees went to in covenant-bound neighborhoods and then municipal taxes for the rest.

Unincorporated areas? Generally, I wouldn't expect them to need many sidewalks.

We’re at the stage now that City takes cash in lieu of sidewalks for new development a lot of the time. Then never puts them in. Win-win?! -- nm

That's exactly where we are. Take the cash from developers instead and then add it to the slush fund. -- nm
