Interesting...I didn't realize LCD TV's (and Plamsas - wow) use 43% more energy than old cathode-ray TVs. -- (link)

LCD's consume 43% more energ y on average than the older CRTs, while plasma TVs suck three times as much.

I find this to be completely counter-intuitive. Why, then, do computer LCDs consume far less power than computer CRTs? -- nm

computer lcd's are only a little larger than the CRT they replaced, but wall mounted LCDs are much larger than the tube they replace -- nm
