I remember. As a radio geek, it was an earth shattering move in that landscape. The end of terrestrial radio.

Didn't work out that way. The money he got was astronomical at the time but very few radio personalities *of his kind* followed him.
In the mid-2000's, podcasting was starting to take off and many went that route as it was cheap and they had complete control.
