There are loads of examples - Bob Dylan going electric, David Bowie changing personas with each album, Beyoncé going country

But as a % of successful music acts it would be a pretty small number, and part of it is because many music fans want artists to be entertainers rather then follow them into new styles. It’s challenging for artists to navigate.
