The AI deejay thread from last week inspired me to reinvestigate the Beta Spotify equivalent on my app (trigger warning for the anti-AI)

Gave it a try when it first appeared on my phone. Didn't click with me when I first tried it months ago. Kept playing music I was into years ago instead of what I'm into now. But I went back last week and it seems like it finally "got my hints" of the music I want to hear.
AI is generally concerning. I'm no club kid, but I used to enjoy going to rock clubs. It's probably true that AI will never be a substitute for a human DJ. However, I can't be mad at the Spotify DJ.
That said, some things occurred to me while using the Spotify version. Spotify DJ has had a few moments where it weirdly told me some words I needed to hear. Can't quite put my finger on it. It reminded me of the movie Her. It occurred to me that an AI deejay could be programmed to say certain things to the audience that it needs to hear, like positive of affirming things. If you are in the right state of mind, it may not matter to you if the words you are hearing are from a computer instead of a person. It's weird.
Spotify DJ will never get cranky. I've definitely seen my share of grumpy human DJs. You can be a dick to an AI deejay. It won't care unless it's programmed to. I've been a drunken dick to to a human DJ once or twice and almost got myself thrown out of the club. AI deejay won't need to take a break and put on a weird long program so it can go take a poop.
I've seen Spotify DJ have plenty of unintentionally hilarious moments. Like it would say it's playing a certain genre, but the songs wouldn't match. Weird stuff like that.
Spotify DJ has had some beautiful moments where it played some genres or artists I wouldn't normally and I liked the results. I don't know if this is a substitute for Discover Weekly as I never particularly cared for it in the past.
Best thing about Spotify DJ is probably that it lets me turn my brain off completely. Even when I'm listening to normal Spotify, I still do a little thinking as I'm thinking of what music to play next or investigating new music.
Just some thoughts.
