for sure. this is esp important if you have medical devices or medicine that needs constant refrigeration. nobody can run a whole house on backup

without spending $10s of thousands of dollars and even then, you're pushing it.

it's a game of prioritization.

this also gets into safe implementation. unless you're directly plugging devices into a generator, you MUST have a transfer switch. running that power into your panel without that switch could kill a powerline worker miles away.
