i sometimes get the "mom, i lost my phone use this new number", or "mom, call me, urgent," types. I always respond something like

"you did this to yourself. blocking you now. good luck".
so, if the scammer for any reason thinks i believed them, they'll think i'm a hard-ass mean mom.
then i block it, obvie.
