In response to "This is why I'm not very interested in watching the films. Regardless of how much people seem to like them. -- nm" by sycor

I'm guessing there's some really small fraction of the fanbase that watches them like me and that means not actually watching what I'm guessing is the

worst scenes.

I mean I grew up watching things like Bad Taste and I'm positive that version of me would love the scenes but these days I literally turn away from the screen or in the case of the theatrical experience this past Friday, close my eyes.

Of course this leads to some glimpses as I occasionally get faked out by the soundtrack and while it sounds like it over, look at screen and OMG it's not over

At the same time, I think part of the appeal for fans is that for the less gruesome scenes I have seen, there's a very physical, practical approach to the effects. Which for some is going to make it all the more worse.

Sooooo...why am I watching these? Cause Art is a really good horror character and the actor does an insanely good silent performance. There's some barely hinged, really unhinged aspect to the lore. Like a nightmare sequence in 2 and kind of a new take on the final girl trope
