Judge said we can talk to whomever we want about any aspect.

It only took us 30-45 minutes to come to a verdict. We could've done it in 10. We spent some time discussing aspects of the case, but there was no disagreement on guilt. The prosecution's case was overwhelming, and anticipated and voided every defense line before they could make it.
It actually took us more time to decide on a sentence. We had a choice between Life or a sentence between 10 and 30 years. We all wrote a suggested sentence on a slip of paper and then tallied them up. I thought I was being a hardass when I suggested 25 years, but that turned out to be the low end of the scale. Three people voted for life. After a lot more discussion, the rest of us were swayed enough to go along with that. The prosecution only asked for 30, so Merry Christmas to them I guess.
