Figuring that someday, the estranged son of the previous owners, who left town to make his way in the big city, comes back reluctantly to run the b&b, has a meet cute with his high school sweetheart (who has definitely moved on with her life but not quite far enough and who helps out at the local historical society in her spare time, which she doesn’t have a lot of as a widowed mother of three, but she does what she can) while clearing out old boxes from that ginormous basement, decides to stay in town and help fight the greedy property developer, who is also his boss, and keep him from demolishing it for condos and ruining Christmas for everyone.
