their increases because of inflation that they would have hoped for, but on average they aren't falling further behind. And I will just note again, for those people that vote for Trump because it was "better when he was president", (a) it wasn't in that last year when he had to deal with the pandemic (unemployment skyrocketed), (b) he offers no plans to actually fix any of this (other than to just say he'll fix it) and (c) Harris actually has plans aimed at these issues. To me it's just lazy to say it was better under Trump. People just remember life before the pandemic fondly.
