FWIW, I think "the economy is bad" is a set "fact" in many people's mind for this election. The message to persuadable voters now is Trump is worse.

The undecided or persuadable voters out there are those that think the economy is bad and that Trump would make it better, but agree that at best Trump comes with a lot of baggage.
There's not enough time left to make the argument that the economy isn't bad because it's nuanced so you have to just cede the point to them. I think even if they don't believe the worst about Trump they need to be reminded that at best a Trump presidency is just plain exhausting and that paying more for bacon is worth the price of dealing with that.
So you need to defeat the bad economy vibe with the Trump is worse vibe. The thought in the ballot box has to be do I want to deal with another four years of that. I think there are a lot of people in that group that will say no when it comes down to it. Hopefully it's enough in the states where it's going to matter.
