I get it. I am not one who thinks all problems can be solved, at least not immediately and not without failures (not even by throwing money at them).

Government is big and it can provide big picture responses, but individuals special needs may not always fit perfectly. Homelessness is much more complicated (on an individual basis) than just "here's housing". While that definitely would solve issues for some who are just having financial issues, for many (probably more than half), mental illness and substance abuse are huge factors. And while there can be things to help them as well, not all will succeed. I think it's easy to say these things can be fixed easily with more money, but I think that just oversimplifies things. For me the question is always "who is better", not "who can fix everything". Doesn't mean you don't push those who are doing better to keep doing better and better, but particularly in our split two-party system country, it's not always possible to get everything you want. Incremental improvement is improvement. I get you're not saying this (and that you probably recognize this), but I get frustrated by the "they didn't fix everything and until they're willing to fix all issues we'll vote them out because they aren't progressive enough." And the alternative is someone who makes everything much, much, much worse and threatens the ability to ever change anything.
