Spirit is perfect for same-day or 1-to-2 day trips, when you don't have any luggage.

My daughter has had to fly to Philly for Doctor appointments; she boards at 6 am, direct flight from TPA-PHL, goes to her appointment at 1pm, and is on a return flight at 4pm PHL-TPA all for like $70 total.
Think we've flown them (or Frontier) for funerals, too. Fly up the day before, back the next evening, all for ~$100.
I like the no-frills of it when it's needed.
