Only Kilbo will understand this.
Tip #1: Never try to learn anything from Microsoft's documentation.
Tip #2: YouTube videos will show you everything you need to know.
The WinPE thumbdrive that my tech had given me got corrupted and he's away for several weeks. I had to rebuild it without any understanding as to how it is you build a WinPE thumbdrive. It was an exercise in learning. For instance, I now know that you can't do this with an external SSD. Only a thumbdrive. Also, don't try to add packages or customize the WinPE package unless you want to be frustrated. Just run Windows update later. Lastly...
The instructions I had for the dearly departed thumb drive including DISKPART commands to select a separate partition on the thumbdrive. Why would my technician do something as silly as put two partitions on one thumbdrive? Then I tried to copy the WIM (Windows Image file) to the thumbdrive, at which point I was reminded of the FAT32 file size limitations. Then I realized how genius it was that my technician had partitioned the thumbdrive into FAT32 and NTFS partitions. He gets a gold star when he comes back.
