Music laws/music legislation is set up to reward the song writers more than artist performing so if you write your own songs and own the music…

Those people make bank. But if other people write your songs, you’re getting a smaller much smaller share from every stream/listen. Additionally, for any extra service that Spotify ads, i.e. audiobooks or TV shows that lowers the percent that has to pay for any streaming because it becomes part of a package deal and that package deal isn’t part of profits that needs to be paid out.
