In response to "FWIW, it's not a majority of 538 votes, it's a majority of the ones that are submitted." by Reagen

Well, yeah. As a matter of rules and practice. As far as I know, there is enough fodder for any number of Constitutional challenges.

But when has the MAGA contingent ever cared about rules or practice? Or precedent -- legal, historical, or otherwise?

The Constitution itself (Article II, Sec 1, Cl 2-3) is ambiguous on a few major points, too. Someone, somewhere, is going to assert that the Constitution requires all Electoral Votes from all States to be counted. They won't win (or probably won't win), but they don't need to win the case. They just need to punt the decision to the House.

But it's not the legal or political strife that stokes my fears these days, it's the cultural strife and watching any number of social institutions being destroyed before our very eyes.
