I actually have an idea that just hit me. Angel brings up a good point while being a stupid 22yr old. Chicago / LA / NY are expensive as hell. WNBA

pay is not good. Caitlin is making 80k a year max per her salary. I know her and Bayou Barbie make more in endorsements, but how many WNBA players are truly marketable?
There's a reason Griner was in Russia when she got held hosta-rrested. Becuase WNBA pay is not good.
Even the stars are making, let's say 200k. For a big city, that's good money, but hardly life-altering once you take out the agent fees, the trainer fees etc etc...
So, if it's a shaky org at all, and you're not making a ton of money for being a legitimate superstar...there's not much benefit given the WNBA is low-profile for 95% of their players.
