I found a new way that this port-on-the-bottom thing would negatively impact me.

Right now, I have a bluetooth keyboard & apple magic trackpad. However, I have the magic trackpad plugged into my monitor via USB-C. When my monitor connects to my laptop (also by USB-C), it renegotiates the connection with the trackpad.
Which means, if I swap to my work laptop, all I have to do is plug in my monitor & tap the "Device 1" key on my keyboard, and I'm up and running. Swapping back to my personal laptop, I connect the monitor and tap "Device 2".
That would be annoying as fuck with the magic mouse, because I'd have to give it tummy rubs every time I switched.
