Dangers of an invasive species tipping a closed ecosystem.

Snakes ate nearly all the birds. In a normal ecosystem, at least some birds eat spiders. No birds, lots of spiders

Guam has 40 times more spiders than neighbouring islands – and a population of invasive snakes so voracious, they have emptied the forests of every bird. (www.bbc.com)
