I agree with Andie. I hate 2FA (for any unimportant things). But, can someone explain passkeys?

For most things that have mentioned using passkeys, they say something like using biometrics or facial recognition. If I'm on a laptop and I don't WANT to do either of those, how does a passkey differ from a password?

Passkeys are essentially software implementations of FIDO2 hardware keys. They do cryptographic stuff that is bound to the device when authenticating - oblique Oct 31, 11:36
