It all seemed to come down to "I have this one thing that is all I care about and your candidate didn't come directly to me and say the secret word I was waiting to hear. I know that the other guy is horrible, but you didn't convince me."
Aside from the obvious MAGAt who just wants to be pissed at the Dems.
