Kinda pricey but I roll with Coppersole socks. I think they are semi-compression and find that helps the elasticity live longer as well. -- (link)

There are also winter/work boot versions a little thicker and warmer. I'm just saying they are not your Walmart dozen pairs for $10. -- nm
