And yet it's not the oldest! Pretty Boy and Pretty Low are from August. I finally decided I can't yearn for Monoco in November as well.

Generally, the list has always had some songs hang on for quite awhile. The whole thing is supposed to replicate in a lot of ways what I'd like an hour of radio to sound like if I were the program director of a new-music first format.
I used to put true throwbacks on there. But have largely dropped that and instead use modern covers of old songs very rarely.
Long time hangers-on are a good bet to make the Top 20 for the year.
