Poll report (in which I out myself)

As I was pulling up to my polling place, I noticed a black Subaru Outback parked prominently in the front row. It had an Idaho Cutthroat Trout license plate like I do (indicating that the driver had paid extra to support Fish and Game and most likely was fisherperson as the hunters usually get the elk license plate). But even more prominent than the license plate was a large Harris/Walz bumper-sticker. I took it as a good omen.

I went in saw a friend working my precinct's check-in. I picked up my ballot. I went and filled it out.

I went up to the little old lady to turn in my ballot. I gave her my last name. She said "It is not Mark, is it?" Indeed it is.

She asked if I remembered her. I guessed wrongly. She said it was Mrs. Ashcraft, who was my drama teacher so many years ago.

I told her it was nice to see her again. She said "I remember what a wonderful job you did in the school play in 1983." I was "Whoa, great memory" She said "I remember all my drama kids"

Yes, my senior year I was searching for myself and I tried a lot of things. I left the football team and ran cross country. And yes, I was the lead in the school play.

I told her that I see her name on the Arts Council flyers as one of the board members. And as I was leaving she said "If you ever want to act again, just let me know".
