race/ethnicity to educated vs. uneducated. Republicans used to be the wealthy (and the religious), and democrats more of a working class party, but the hollowing out of the middle class has shifted it and the biggest difference seems to be educated vs. uneducated and education is unaffordable to too many people now. Democrats still have the right ideas and actual plans that can help the others but they feel like they are being talked down to. I don't know exactly how to fix that.
Also, I expect Trump's term to be a disaster economically so I expect they will be unhappy about that. I'm wondering if the days of a 2 term president are over (unless split, like here), because people seem to think all problems should be fully solved in 4 years and if not the president sucks.
