Personally, my family is more left-leaning than I am, and in another country.

But more generally, have you noticed that other people don’t want to listen or understand people who disagree with them? You don’t have to look very hard to find families that are fractured or have little contact because the older generation has chosen Trump/Fox News - do you think those sons and daughters didn’t try to hash things out with their parents?
