We are all processing our reactions and I don't think anyone should beat themselves if some of those thoughts occur. However...

I think we need to (like it sounds you are) not let those thoughts overwhelm us or take control.

Allow ourselves some leeway that the thoughts happen, don't beat ourselves for letting these thoughts cross our minds in the mourning period post-election.

And then re-focus ourselves on part of why many of us voted the way we did. Because we thought it would help more people in the country, including many people who may have voted the opposite of us. And re-focus on the fact that we haven't changed (and won't be changed by Trump) and still want that good for everyone, including the Trump voters.
