Remlik's post reminded me of an idea I had. Is there a place where I can go and just give bands money directly?

I feel like places like that are more for full indie artists, which is good too. I just want to consume how I want to consume but still pay the artist

Bandcamp is a good option. You can buy the songs. Or buy merch. I agree there should just be like a tip jar like on line busking. -- nm

I'm pretty sure for any artist/band on any label, the accounting probably gets murky.

Probably the most straightforward way is to buy the album on iTunes/Amazon which I believe is still possible just not the highest % of money to them -- nm

So if I want to give The Cure $10 because I've listened to their new album multiple times on Prime Music can I easily go on Soundcloud and do that?

I would guess it is pretty fragmented. Each band might have an option on their homepage (if they have one). Bandcamp and Patreon could be avenues
