The blood drawing bite and scratch wounds occurred when trying to even pick up the cat to get it to the carrier.

I have four cats. Two are problems getting into a carrier (Coco and Hukkle) and two are not (Bob and Tino). When I make appointments I make two appointments a week apart, each of them for two cats at a time with the understanding that I'll bring in whichever two I can get for that day.
My strategy was to try to get the two problem cats in during the first appointment to see if I could get them out of the way. Coco is usually the biggest issue (last year she didn't even make it to the vet because I never got her) so I got Coco first. That went pretty smoothly. I was able to scruff her and pull her out from under the bed and get her in the carrier without much incident.
Of course once in the carrier she started screaming which freaked out the other cats except Bob who just continued to chill. Even Tino hid under a bed.
I figured I would try to get Hukkle next. He had run to hide in the basement. I found him and tried to scruff him, but he went into berzerker mode. Scratching and biting including full on clamping down on my arm with a bite. Blood was drawn.
At that point I switched to Tino. He was under the bed but was pretty easy to get and put in the carrier.
So the strategy for next week is to try to get Hukkle first. Hopefully he will have calmed down by then. I don't really expect to see him for a few days. If I can get him before he realizes it's a thing Bob won't be a problem. Heck, Bob might even walk into the carrier himself.
