I'm not saying people didn't vote for others to get hurt. The one thing that the GOP has done a great job on is making people feel less ashamed

about being bigoted, racist, or being selfish.
People voted for something they wanted. They're trusting that the party will do what they say. And if current trends hold true, more than likely, there's a full sweep of incumbents next time around. No party is doing what they say they're going to do or doing it well if they try, so they get cycled out every election until someone figures it out (maybe trying being actually Progressive next time?).
But we also need to be very careful about how we frame this. No group is a monolith, not even Republicans/Conservatives and definitely not any racial identity. People voted for many reasons, but saying it was because of their race is wrong.
I'm seeing incredible amounts of racism from Democrats right now and we're supposed to not be the racist party. They're mad that they lost, their going through a lot of emotions, and a lot of true feelings are coming out. I've made some mistakes in the past few days as I struggle with my biases and whiteness, so I'm trying to be very careful in how I frame anything right now.
