I have vague thoughts about retiring somewhere like Costa Rica or wherever makes sense when I’m able to retire.

Right now I live where I live because of my mom. Otherwise I don’t really have any ties to any where. I think I can live a pretty modest lifestyle though I would need modern conveniences. I may have missed the window on Costa Rica as I’ve heard it’s been a popular retirement destination for a while and therefore isn’t exactly what it was.
But in general someplace with a low cost of living, stable democracy, generally safe, warm climate, good healthcare, easy immigration, basic modern amenities, etc. sounds like a nice retirement destination.
