China will not hesitate to block imports of consumption-heavy goods they see as having little value to their economy.

Like they have done with French brandy and Australian wine.
China's biggest imports from the US are agricultural - eg soybeans and corn, (which they can source those from other trade partners eg Brazil, Argentina), mineral (oil & gas, which also has other sources), industrial - eg machinery, integrated circuits (perhaps limited scope for other sourcing, especially as the main alternatives would be Europe and Japan/Korea which have their own issues with China - but OTOH China wd see the silver lining as amore impetus for ramping up domestic production)
