I'm not convinced that the constitution is as big a hurdle as you think it is.

As much as I would like to believe it is, it's like any other agreement that if people want to try to maneuver around, there are likely ways to do it (as we've already seen). And even if (and it's a big if), the supreme court were to rule against him on anything, who enforces that. No independent justice department, new military leadership beholden to him and not the constitution, etc. He's building his protections to allow him to do whatever he wants. He wants to be king, and that's what he's preparing to get.
